Qualifications/Skills:
Vocational Agriculture Teacher 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture education or agricultural science. Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with an Endorsement in Agriculture.
  • Valid New Mexico teaching certificate or the ability to obtain certification..
  • Ability to plan and teach shop and agriculture CTE course work to Junior High and High School level students. 
  • Experience in agriculture or agriculture education and/or manufacturing and trades is preferred
  • Project planning and management experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

The Agricultural Mechanics/Woodworking Secondary Teacher will be responsible for teaching students in grades 7-12 the fundamental concepts, techniques, and practices of agricultural mechanics, woodworking, and related skills. The teacher will foster a learning environment that promotes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and creativity, preparing students for careers in agriculture, mechanics, construction, or woodworking trades.
